OMG! I just got to hear the remix for Release Me. It’s insane… Discophonics are the guys behind this kick a$$ remix! I’ve been contemplating what to write, after all it’s the first blog on my new site, it should be something special… right?  Being a person of many words, there is so much to say and to find a starting point to reach out to my fans, old and new… welll there’s a lot of pressure. So many ways this could go. As artists we share the most intimate sides of ourselves with the world. YES, there’s always the love we get from our ever so supportive fans (I’m so lucky to have plenty!). Then the not so elegant side where the not so crazy about you fans are trashing you wishing you would, well, ermmm, die. Yes it hurts. But I suppose that’s just a part of the biz. It certainly gives me a stronger backbone. I’ve also learned that you can’t make everyone happy so you better just love yourself and get over shit.

Ok so here’s a secret I want to share with you. I totally, absolutely, love Love LOVE singing. I live for it. I sing wherever I go, grocery stores, the mall, bathroom (and I don’t mean in the shower)… EVERYWHERE! I don’t do it for attention either. This feeling overtakes me and it just happens. Ummm helloooo, that’s why I am pursuing my dream career in music. It’s a dream worth pursuing for me and I encourage every single one of you daring gutsy people to continue to pursue your dreams NO MATTER WHAT! Sure there might be some punches, throwbacks,  let downs, and yes it’s hard work, but there is also going to be a lot of triumphs, a lot of personal growth and of course a lot of LIVING. Loving what you do is living and living is fun. I can guarantee you one thing, you will not look back. Life becomes more desirable when you live being true to yourself. For me, when I sing, my voice comes from such a deep, sacred place, it feels like a higher power is flowing through me. I feel the most connected to my soul, the Universe and God. All I can say is thank you God for giving me this blessing. The blessing isn’t just my voice, but the strength and perseverance to follow through with what I’m meant to do.

There have been many pitfalls for which I’m so grateful because they have made me rethink my game in every way. There is always a lesson to be learned whilst suffering. And it’s my faith that keeps me going, dropping every spare dime I have into it. So far the spare dime has taken me as far as Bollywood (the largest film industry in the world) where I got to sing some songs with Mika Singh and also have my songs featured in movies like “Mission Istanbul” starring A-listers Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, etc… Not bad eh? Thank you God. What great experiences I’ve had so far…

Well this is not what I had in mind for my first (special) blog… But as with everything in life, I just gotta roll with it and give you what I have inside me right now. And right now, I’m listening to Zero 7′s Spinning so it contributes to some of the expression in this post.

OH YEAH, when you have a chance listen to my latest track “Release Me’… I’m sure you are going to have one of two reactions; either you will LOVE THE HECK out of it and totally LOVE ME, or HATE IT and start an “ugh THIS IS so not happening, PRIYA” campaign… ahahaha! Whatever it is, make sure you’re living and having lots of fun doing it. (Well of course inside I totally hope you love it the way I do)
